Peer Review Process

All contributions submitted to the 27th IMEKO TC4 Conference 2026 with Special TC11 Technical Session are subject to peer review. Submissions are made through the IMEKO conference management system (conferences.imeko.org) in two categories: full papers (4–6 pages), which are published in the conference proceedings, and one-page extended abstracts, which are not included in the proceedings.

Each full paper is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers, members of the International Program Committee or external experts in the field. The reviewers assess:

  • scientific quality and originality,
  • technical and methodological correctness,
  • relevance to the scope of IMEKO TC4 and TC11,
  • clarity of presentation,

and provide written comments to the authors. Reviewers do not review papers of which they are authors or co-authors. Based on the reviews, the General Conference Chair and the Technical Programme Co-Chairs decide on acceptance, revision or rejection. Authors of accepted papers must address the reviewers’ comments in the final version, which is checked for compliance with the reviews and with the conference template. Only papers presented at the conference are included in the proceedings.

In total, 46 contributions were submitted and 38 contributions were presented at the conference, of which 28 full papers are published in the proceedings. The review process involved 30 reviewers from 14 countries.

The Proceedings follow the conference Publication Ethics Statement, which sets out the responsibilities of authors, reviewers and editors regarding originality and plagiarism, authorship, conflicts of interest, confidentiality of the review process, and corrections and retractions.

Journal Special Issue

Authors of selected high-quality papers will be invited to submit an extended version to a Special Issue of Measurement (Elsevier) and ACTA IMEKO. Invited papers must be technically extended by at least 30 % with respect to the conference paper, and their similarity with the original conference paper must not exceed 30 %. Invited papers undergo the regular peer review of the journal, and even invited papers may be desk-rejected if their originality and quality are not regarded as sufficient by the journal’s Editorial Team.
